a composition in four parts meant to be played simultaneously but not necessarily in sync

while you listen to the part already playing (part one), you may open and play the three other video links above in their own separate browser tabs or windows. all four parts are meant to play at the same time, but they don’t have to be in sync. you can change their respective volumes. you can stop / start individual parts. like the components of a mobile sculpture, the parts can be considered on their own or in any combination. this is music without development, in which nothing much happens (or rather: the happening is evenly distributed throughout the piece). this is also rather quiet music – perfect for playing in the background while you are doing something else on your computer
